Hark The Melodious Cicadas Sing-ing

Tra La La La Melodious Yodelling

I love Cicadas; they really do herald the beginning of summer for me down under. The species that sing high up in our trees are known as the Psaltoda Moerens or more recognisably the Redeye/Cherry Eye Cicadas.

They’re not very pretty, black, with square flat heads, eyes wide apart and truly red, a bit ghoulish looking in fact. And they’re big, ranging from 0.75 to 2.25 inches/2.2 to 5.5 cm long.

I love writing and blogging mostly about everyday things. My goal is to be a very good one so I’m taking a writing course with Jon Morrow, who is excellent.
